"A wedding vow is not the finish line of pursuit; it is the promise that pursuit will no longer have an ending."
Reflection
Men can become remarkably attentive while trying to win a woman and remarkably comfortable once they have. Before marriage, we notice details. We plan. We listen. We make time. Then familiarity arrives, and what once felt precious begins to feel permanent. Permanent things are easy to neglect because we assume they will still be there tomorrow.
But covenant is not permission to become careless. Marriage asks a man to continue discovering the woman he already chose. Your wife is still changing. So are you. The woman beside you today is not exactly the woman you married years ago, and loving only your memory of her is not the same as loving her.
Study her again. Learn what has become heavy. Notice what makes her laugh now. Ask what she is afraid of. Court the woman who already carries your name. Love grows stale when attention becomes automatic, but attention can make an old covenant feel new again.

Where have I allowed familiarity with my wife to become carelessness?
Today's Practice
Ask your wife one question today that you genuinely do not know the answer to, and listen without fixing, defending, or checking your phone.
Closing Principle
Never stop pursuing the woman you once prayed would choose you.
