The Daily Ascent Press (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and publishes The Daily Ascent, including books and daily reading material for men. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and how we use it.

• Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google provides (name, email, profile image).
• Reading activity. Bookmarks, completed readings, and reading progress tied to your account.
• Journal entries. Anything you write in your private journal, stored against your account.
• Email sign-ups. If you join the mailing list, we store your email address for that purpose.
• Technical data. Standard server and security logs generated when you visit the site.

How we use it

We use your information to authenticate you, save your reading progress and journal, send you updates you asked for, and keep the site secure and working. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your journal entries for marketing.

Your journal is private

Journal entries are visible only to your own account. Access is enforced at the database level. Site administrators may access stored data only where strictly necessary to operate, back up, or repair the service.

Service providers

We rely on third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, and email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security obligations. Signing in with Google is subject to Google’s own privacy policy.

Retention and your choices

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can edit or delete individual journal entries at any time, export your journal from the journal page, unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, or ask us to delete your account and associated data.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy as the site grows. Material changes will be reflected in the date above.
